Government issues RFP for EDC's Legislative Review

The Department of International Trade has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a consultant for EDC's Legislative Review. The consultant will conduct research, engage stakeholders, solicit input, and prepare a final report including recommendations for the Minister’s consideration.

Under the terms of the Export Development Act, the Government of Canada initiates a periodic independent review of EDC's mandate and operational effectiveness. Under the Act, these reviews are conducted every 10 years, with the next Legislative Review scheduled to begin in 2008. EDC welcomes this opportunity to examine Canada's challenges in global commerce, the needs of Canadian exporters and investors, and the role that the private sector and public sector, including EDC, can play in helping the Government address those needs.
