This presentation highlights and illustrates the issues raised in the paper of same name by Paul Murray, Statistics Canada, and David Culver, AAFC. Farm structure has changed over time and continues to evolve. Agricultural data has responded with new data sets. These are described and illustrated. Conceptual issues are raised for discussion.

The presentation points to the wealth of available data. It asks whether complementary indicators or separate reports for different dimensions of agriculture, such as commercial and social/family, would provide a more complete picture.
