Family Farms in Canada: Financial Profile and Business Behaviour - Results of the 2003 Farm Financial Survey

The report Family Farms in Canada: Financial Profile and Business Behaviour provides a statistical profile of Canadian farm families as to their financial characteristics and business management practices. A farm typology defined by Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (AAFC) is applied as a means to describe the wide diversity of farms and farm family goals and objectives. Business management practices include such areas as farm accounting, computer use, non-traditional marketing and value-added processing, innovation, food safety procedures, and training and skills development. The source of data for this report is the 2003 Farm Financial Survey done in partnership between AAFC and Statistics Canada
