After a speech in Montréal before the Conseil du
patronat du Québec, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty visited a new
ethanol plant in Varennes, Quebec, on March 28, 2007, underscoring
Budget 2007 support of $2 billion for the development of a Canadian
renewable fuels industry. In this case, the fuel is made from corn.
Here the Minister is joined by Robert Gallant, President and CEO of
GreenField Ethanol, at the new GreenField Ethanol plant in Varennes.
