Audit and Evaluation Reports

The Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) carries out independent reviews, including audits, evaluations, and special projects, as directed by the Departmental Audit and Evaluation Committee.

Audits focus on practices and procedures both in Canadian missions abroad and in Headquarters bureaus. Evaluations deliver information on the continued relevance of DFAIT policies and programs, on whether and to what extent they are achieving their objectives, and on the impacts they are producing.

Audit and evaluation reports are grouped below by the year of issue, and by reports posted recently to this site. Personal and sensitive information has been edited from these reports consistent with the provisions of the Privacy and Access to Information Acts. Only the Executive Summaries of reports are available on-line prior to 2000; for the full reports, please contact the Office of the Inspector General. An explanation of acronyms and symbols used throughout the reports can be found in acronyms and symbols.
