The Canadian tourism industry generated revenues of approximately $66.9 billion in 2006, providing over $27.7 billion of value added (2.07 percent of gross domestic product) to the Canadian economy. Tourism in Canada provides breathtaking experiences in a natural and pristine environment, highlights provincial/territorial and multicultural diversity, and offers unique Aboriginal tourism products and experiences. Canada is a world-class destination with upcoming major domestic and international events such as the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec in 2008 and the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in British Columbia.
