New intake for the Francophone Tele-Learning Pilot Project Initiative

The Francophone Tele-Learning Pilot Project Initiative is part of the Government of Canada’s Action Plan for Official Languages, which aims, in part, to promote economic development in Canada’s official language minority communities. In Ontario, this initiative is being administered jointly by Industry Canada’s Ontario Region Office and FedNor.

This initiative aims to enhance the participation of Ontario’s Francophone community in the knowledge-based economy by expanding the availability of tele-learning content and applications. The initiative is designed to be implemented through partnerships that involve colleges and universities that serve the Francophone community, along with other partners such as economic development organizations, not-for-profit corporations and/or the private sector.

An estimated $1.8 million will be allocated by March 2008 to the Francophone Tele-Learning Pilot Project Initiative in Ontario.

Please note that all pilot projects must involve at least one Ontario post-secondary institution that provides programs to the Francophone community.

Applications will be received on a first-come, first-served basis while funds remain available.
