2007 marks the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Cooperative Threat Reduction Program and the 5th anniversary of the Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction, launched by the G8 under Canada's leadership.

On August 30th, 2007, a dedication ceremony for a railway bridge - built to cross the Miass River as part of the construction of an 18km railway between a chemical weapons storage site at Shchuch’ye in Russia and a destruction facility - was held at Shchuch’ye with representatives of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, NTI and Russia.

Canadian Forces Central Flying School (CFS) pilots have been sharing flying tips and techniques with the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Air Wing as part of Canada's Military Training Assistance Programme. Recently, Canadian Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Haskins of the CFS presented a plaque confirming the stellar evaluation results of the school's flight training standards.
