Growing with you
That's the goal of BDC, both in the business world and on the playing field. Through our Growing with you Program, we sponsor local sports for young people, because sports promote just the sort of virtues that will also help Canadian kids succeed in business: hard work, perseverance, continuous improvement, competitiveness and determination to excel.
What sort of support is available?
This can vary depending on the need. BDC may, for example, provide necessary equipment, such as medals, jerseys and sports bags. Or we may provide a small financial contribution, so long as this is not used as an award or a prize.
Area Vice Presidents decide whom to sponsor. This ensures that our branches respond to the needs of the many communities we serve from coast to coast. Sponsorships are distributed equitably throughout the country.
As a general rule of thumb, BDC may support two or three sponsorships in each region every year. But support is always for a specific period of time and must not be considered permanent or ongoing from year to year.
What kind of sponsorships is BDC looking for?
BDC will consider any sport open to the general public and in events for athletes aged 8 to 16. BDC sponsors entire teams, or specific events, but not individual athletes.
