Canadian women entrepreneurs represent an increasing economic force. Over 10 years ago, BDC began to focus on women in business and the results speak for themselves: Since 1995, total lending committed to women has more than doubled, representing $1.6 billion today.
In octobre 2003, BDC launched a $25 million fund to provide quasi-equity financing for women entrepreneurs wishing to expand their businesses. As of March 2005, 11.9 million has been authorized under that fund.
