Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting North Shore
September 4, 2007


QUEBEC CITY – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to toxicity, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:

Prohibition Order No. QTN-429

Pointe à Émile

From Pointe à Émile to a point near of the sawmill.

The Department would like to remind that harvesting of shellfish is prohibited in any area within 125 meters of any port, wharf or marina in the Province of Quebec.
