Stronger measures to ensure the sustainability of straddling fish stocks, new protections for deep-sea corals, and a modernized Convention were just some of notable outcomes of this year’s meeting of the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization. Canada played a lead role in achieving these results during the meeting which concluded in Lisbon, Portugal on September 28.
