With responsibility for the Canadian government's industrial security program, we carry out many functions related to contract security and controlled goods. These functions include:
- ensuring security in contracts awarded by PWGSC or when requested
by other government departments.
- controlling the examination, possession or transfer of Controlled
Goods in Canada.
- providing personnel security screening services to PWGSC employees
and Canadian private sector organizations involved in protected/classified
government contracts awarded by PWGSC or when requested by other
government departments.
- inspecting organizations with access to protected and classified
information and assets or those dealing with Controlled Goods or
technology.
- processing Canadian and foreign visit requests for visitors requiring
access to contract-related Classified / Protected information / assets.
- transmitting contract-related Classified/Protected information/assets between Canadian and foreign industries and governments.
These services are vital to help Canada:
- safeguard federal contract-related Classified and Protected information
and assets entrusted to Canadian and international private sector organizations
and their governments.
- share foreign sensitive technologies with Canadian industry.
- support its economy by helping Canadian industry participate in foreign
classified contracts.
- maintain the trust and confidence of NATO and our other allies.
- support the country's anti-proliferation, public safety, security, and global security priorities.
