INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL SECURITY DIRECTORATE (IISD)Mandate To negotiate Industrial Security Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with foreign countries on behalf of the Government of Canada. To administer the safeguarding measures of all contracts with foreign countries related to the exchange of classified information and the assessment of Visit Clearance Requests. Role IISD negotiates industrial security MOUs with foreign nations and ensures compliance so that Canadian and foreign government sensitive information is safeguarded. It provides security approval for contract-related visits to industrial sites by government employees and industry officials to government sites in Canada and abroad. IISD approves the transmission of classified and protected contract-related documents. The directorate is also responsible for the US/Canada Joint Certification Office in Battle Creek Michigan
