The Canadian Food Inspection Agency develops and delivers programs and services designed to protect Canada's plant resource base.

Our activities include:

• engaging in activities related to setting international standards
• pest surveillance
• plant health risk assessments
• verifying that exports of plants and plant products meet foreign requirements
• verifying that imports of plants and plant products meet Canadian requirements

Information we provide to individuals includes:

• fact sheets and policies covering
  • plant pests
  • import requirements for packages of flower bulbs purchased in the Netherlands
  • importations of houseplants from the Continental United States and Hawaii
