Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water: Guideline Technical Document on benzene in Drinking Water for public comment

Health Canada, as secretariat to the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water is posting the Guideline Technical Document on benzene in Drinking Water for a 2-month consultation process. This is a revised technical document which proposes a guideline of 0.001 mg/L (1 µg/L) for benzene in drinking water. Comments should be forwarded by email to water_eau@hc-sc.gc.ca by September 14, 2007. For our records, and in order to contact you, should we require any clarification of the comments, we ask that you include your name, affiliation, email address or telephone number. A reply acknowledging reception of comments will be sent.

Next Steps

Following the consultation, a letter summarizing the comments received and the decision of the CDW will be sent to all participants and will be posted to the site along with the revised document.
