Proactive Disclosure
Did you know
We release about 80 cyber alerts each year for IT professionals and managers of critical infrastructure. The Canadian Cyber Incident Response Centre is focused on the protection of national critical infrastructure against cyber incidents.
Public Safety Canada is responsible for policy development and advice to the Minister on matters of national security. We are involved in the following initiatives, programs and files:
- Policy advice and support
Public Safety Canada provides independent advice and support to the Minister on matters of national security. - Cross-Cultural Roundtable on Security
A key element of the National Security Policy, the Roundtable helps inform policy-makers about the impact of national security matters on our diverse society. - Listed entities
Canada's Anti-Terrorism Act enables the government to create a list of "entities" under the Criminal Code. This is a very public way to identify a group or individual as being associated with terrorism. - Security certificates
A rarely used mechanism for removing a person from the country, security certificates are a way to ensure Canada's immigration laws are not misused by people who pose a threat.
