Upgrade Your Skills

Upgrading a specific skill can be as simple as getting a co-worker to show you how, or as complicated as taking a number of courses. To sort out what you need;
  • figure out your current skill set
  • identify additional skills you need
  • then explore the options for learning the skill.

Your personal skills profile can be used to:

  • prepare for resume and cover letter writing;
  • prepare for interviews;
  • build your self esteem by reminding yourself of your skills;
  • identify skills to learn or further develop;
  • create value statements;
  • identify which skills you most enjoy using.

Create a Skills Profile. Value your skills, remind yourself of what brings meaning to your work, and reflect on what you need to do to make best use of your skills.
