Submitting Ecological Experimental Data
Environment Canada prefers to base decisions on experimental data over modeled data, when experimental data is available. As such, Environment Canada is providing the opportunity to interested parties to submit, via the Internet, experimental study information on the persistence, bioaccumulation and aquatic toxicity potential of substances.
You will be provided with a username and password for logging in and submitting study information so that you will only need to enter your affiliation and contact information once (even if you have many studies to submit). This will ensure that the data provided is kept secure from any other users of the system.
Each study should be entered as a separate submission that includes study reference information, the CAS number for the substance studied and specifics about the study conditions. Because each final result presented in a study may have been based on different experiment conditions, the submission forms are "single-result-oriented".
You need only enter the study reference information once. However, if the study has multiple results, each result must be entered separately noting the appropriate applicable responses.
The system will walk you through the process of submitting study and results information. Once all the information for a study has been entered, a printable version of all study details is displayed. The data provider must print, sign and mail in a copy of this page as the official submission for the electronic study information to be considered. Once Environment Canada receives the signed copy, the electronic version of the data will be confirmed into the system.
