George W. Bush
President of the United States

George W. Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Yale University in 1968 and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975.

Mr. Bush was an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard before his career in the energy sector from 1975 to 1986. After working on the 1988 U.S. presidential election, Mr. Bush assembled a group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989. Mr. Bush was managing general partner of the Texas Rangers until 1994, when he was elected Governor of Texas. He won a second term in 1998.

The Republican candidate for the U.S. presidency in the 2000 election, George W. Bush was sworn in as President of the United States on January 20, 2001, re-elected on November 2, 2004, and sworn in.
