Upgrading and bringing up to Standard Weedon’s Drinking Water Supply Facilities
Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec (CED) is inviting public comment on the proposed scoping document for the environmental assessment of the municipality of Weedon’s project to upgrade and bring to standard its drinking water supply facilities. The project is subject to an environmental assessment under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
This project involves constructing one new well capable of supplying some 700 000 cubic meters of water per year from underground water intake.
The public may view the scoping report on the Web site of the CED at www.dec-ced.gc.ca or by visiting the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry, accessible to the public on the Web site of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA). The document can also be viewed at the municipality office, 525, 2è Avenue (Route 112), Weedon.

Participant Funding Program
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will provide, if necessary, up to $10,000 to assist groups and individuals to take part in the environmental assessment of the project. For information on the Participant Funding Program please visit the CEAA’s Web site. To be considered applications must be received by February 16th 2007.
