Lennox Island Water Supply Upgrade Project
Public Invited to Comment on the Environmental Assessment Report

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) invites the public to comment on the conclusions, recommendations and any other aspect of the Comprehensive Study Report prepared for the proposed Lennox Island Water Supply Upgrade Project. Public comments received by July 6, 2007 will be considered.

The Lennox Island First Nation proposes to upgrade the water supply in the Lennox Island First Nation community of Prince Edward Island. The proposal will consist of upgrading the current drinking water supply, delivery and treatment and to provide additional flow and volume of water required for fire protection.  In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, the responsible authority, has undertaken a comprehensive study of the project and have submitted its report to the Minister of the Environment and to the Agency.

The report will be available for public consultation in the following centers:
