BEPCo. Canada Company - EL 2407 Exploration Drilling Program

BEPCo. Canada Company is proposing to conduct an exploration drilling program offshore Nova Scotia on the Scotian Slope, within the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board issued exploration licence (EL) 2407. The program would entail the drilling of 1-3 wells through 2005-2007 and up to 3 appraisal wells through 2008-2009. Exploration drilling would involve the use of a mobile drilling unit, such as a jack-up rig, semi-submersible rig, or drill ship.

In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (the Act), the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board, the responsible authority for this project, has undertaken a comprehensive study of the project and has submitted its report to the Minister of the Environment and to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency).

Pursuant to subsection 22(1) of the Act, the Agency invites the public to comment on the conclusions, recommendations and any other aspect of the comprehensive study report prepared for this project.

Comments from the public received by the Agency no later than April 15, 2005 will be considered. You may request a copy of the report or send your comments, in the official language of your choice, to:
