OECD Risk Awareness Tool for MNEs in Week Governance Zones

On June 8, 2006, the OECD Council adopted the OECD Risk Awareness Tool for Multinational Enterprises in Weak Governance Zones. This tool was developed with a view to help companies that invest in countries where governments are unwilling or unable to assume their responsibilities. National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility

On Thursday, March 29, 2007, the independent Advisory Group for the National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Canadian Extractive Sector in Developing Countries, has released the "Advisory Group Report," which is the final output of this year-long consultation process. The government welcomes the Advisory Group Report, which presents recommendations for how government, industry and civil society can enhance the CSR performance of this sector in developing countries. The government is now considering this valuable input and is developing its response. More information can be found on the roundtables' website.
