I am delighted to tell you that young people are taking full advantage of the National Arts Centre. How, you ask? By participating in student matinees, by attending the Orchestra's open rehearsals, by taking part in music, dance and theatre presentations, and by signing up for our "Live Rush" ticket programme for students, among other things.
All of us at the National Arts Centre believe strongly in our youth and education role. We are committed to helping young Canadians gain a fuller appreciation of what the performing arts have to offer, and get the most out of their experiences.
Programmes for schools include Student Matinees and Open Rehearsals, discount tickets, Theatre Plus! and Professional Development for Teachers. The "Musicians in the Schools" programme of the NAC music Department is designed to both instruct and entertain young people in the many different aspects of music performance.
