Harnessing the Power of NeutronsA giant step forward for material scienceJune 11, 2007, Chalk River, ON – A new chapter is just beginning for Canadian neutron science. Building upon a 50 year legacy of scientific excellence that began with the Nobel Prize winning work of Bertram Brockhouse, MP Cheryl Gallant will officially open a new neutron reflectometer at the NRC Canadian Neutron Beam Centre – giving neutron science a boost. Come and learn how neutrons deliver knowledge about materials helping Canada's industrial competitiveness, and improving public safety. Following the opening ceremonies, join a tour of the NRC Canadian Neutron Beam Centre located inside one of Canada's largest and most prolific science facilities: the NRU reactor. What: Official Opening of the Neutron Reflectometer and Technology Showcase Date: Friday, June 15, 2007 Time: 10:00 to 12:00 noon EST Place: Canadian Neutron Beam Centre, Chalk River Laboratories, Chalk River, Ontario.
