THE NETWORKS
In 2005-2006, the NCE program comprised 25 networks, five
of which were New Initiative networks unveiled in the spring.
The areas of expert investigation ranged from advanced mathematics,
to climate change, from studying stem cells for keys to cures,
to managing forests to ensure their survival. The positive
impacts of this work in the natural and social sciences are
being felt – and will be felt for years to come –
as it enhances Canada's performance in agriculture, industry,
health care and technology.
