Canadian Animal Health Consultative Committee (CAHCC)
The Canadian Animal Health Consultative Committee (CAHCC) was struck over 25 years ago
as a forum of discussion and consultation on animal health issues.
The CAHCC is made up of national industry representatives, federal-provincial animal
health authorities, national animal health and welfare organizations, veterinary college
deans, and invited guests such as the United States Department of Agriculture and the Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería, Desarrollo Rural, Pesca y Alimentación
de México.
Although the role of the CAHCC has changed over the years, its membership continues to
share the goal of promoting long-term sustainability of Canada's animal industries by
providing communication, consultation and co-ordination between the CFIA, its provincial
partners, and regulated animal industries, and by reviewing and developing animal health
policies and programs.
Reports from previous years are available upon request by contacting the CAHCC
Executive Secretary, Chris
Quinlan.
