The Canadian Space Agency helps Canadian adult scientists and students
in many ways. It has the mandate to:
- Advance the knowledge of space through science
- Ensure that space science and technology provide social and
economic benefits for Canadians
To help fulfill this mandate, the Canadian Space Agency
uses the unique appeal of space to improve science and
technology literacy among Canadians, and to increase the number of
students pursing careers in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics.
The Youth Grants and Contributions Program has an annual budget of
about $200,000.
This program provides funding to support activities and projects designed
to reach youth and increase interest in scientific and technological
issues that relate to the Canadian Space Program.
For more detailed information on the Contribution Program
see the PDF
Document. And for more on how to apply for the Grants Program,
refer to the Web
page.
Applications for Contributions should use the Program
Application
form. Competitions for contributions are held twice each year with
deadlines for submissions on April
15 and September 15.
Please note that eligible costs are as follows:
- 100% for the costs of material
- 60% for the costs of direct labour towards the development and implementation of the project
- 50% for the costs of the development of specialized material
- 25% for administrative costs (training, travel, equipment rental, etc.)
- 20% for the cost of subcontractors and consultants
PLEASE NOTE: There is no funding left in the contributions budget for 2007/2008. We can therefore not accept proposals for the September time period. |
