Many organizations support implementing the Refugee Appeal Division. How would you respond to their concerns?

Canada is one of the most generous countries in the world in allowing those who wish to remain in Canada to do so. We have been leaders in protecting vulnerable groups, including women and children. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has recognized Canadian refugee protection policy and practices as a model for other countries.

Canada must make choices about how we invest in our refugee system. Refocusing on protection in order to assist those most in need will enable Canada to help a greater proportion of the world’s refugees while upholding our international legal obligations.
