The libraries participating in the catalogue are the NRCan Library - Ottawa (Earth Sciences) (geology, geomatics, map and photo collections) and the regional libraries of the in Québec City, Calgary, and Vancouver.

The catalogue does NOT include:

• Individual papers in serials or conference proceedings;
• Individual chapters in books;
• Some items received before 1979 in the NRCan Library - Ottawa (Earth Sciences) geological collection – consult the card catalogue located in room 350, 601 Booth St., Ottawa for these items;
• The complete holdings of all monographic maps received by the NRCan Library - Ottawa (Earth Sciences) before 1986;
• Full access to individual sheets in map series;
