CETC Scientist Bruce Clements appears in Diplomat and International Canada, May-June 2007 issue

The article, written by journalist Neil Reynolds, gives an insightful look into the vast potential of the Thermo-energy Integrated Power System (TIPS) technology. TIPS is a clean coal power generation process invented by American scientist Alex Fassbender and being further developed in a partnership with CETC-O’s Combustion Optimization team, led by Bruce Clements. Interest Develops in a New High Efficiency Alternative Clean Coal Power Generation Technology For CO2 Capture and Sequestration

The ThermoEnergy Corporation from Hudson, Massachusettes has been working with the Combustion Optimization Group of CANMET to develop the basic design and optimize performance of a new high efficiency cycle called the ThermoEnergy Integrated Power System (TIPS). Recently the CANMET report entitled “Feasibility Study of the ThermoEnergy Integrated Power System (TIPS) Process” was prepared that determined the basic performance figures for this novel system. THE DRAKE LANDING SOLAR COMMUNITY RECEIVES THREE PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

CETC's Drake Landing Solar Community (DLSC) project has now been awarded three prestigious awards. The DLSC is the largest subdivision of R-2000 single family homes in Canada. Each home is thirty percent more efficient than a conventionally built home. (more)


OTTAWA VALLEY FARM PRODUCING ITS OWN HEAT AND POWER

The Klaesi Farm (a 140 tie-stall dairy operation located in Cobden, Ontario) anaerobic digester (AD) digests the manure from the farm's 160 cow dairy operation and produces sufficient biogas to meet the electricity and heating needs of the farm and farm residences. (more)
