There are three possible ways to answer this question.
The first way to answer is to say that there are too many skills to list! Why? Because
when one considers how broad-ranging health promotion is, everything good could be used.
The second way to answer is to think of a process that captures the skills, resources
and capacities that a community might muster. They would use these strengths to address a
problem or take advantage of an opportunity related to health. A good example of this is Asset-Based Community Development. This concept is based on the idea that the residents of every
community have unique skills, capacities and talents that can be mobilized to contribute to healthy changes in the community.
The third way to answer is to list skill sets or approaches that relate to the general strategies used in health promotion activities. The following list includes some of these approaches with some recommended starting points.
