Canadian Embassy in Tunisia

Welcome to the Canadian Embassy in Tunisia, a country with which we have enjoyed excellent relations for the past 50 years. Tunisia is one of Canada’s oldest partners in Africa, and the oldest in the Maghreb (North Africa). The Canadian Embassy, the first in the Maghreb, was inaugurated in Tunis in 1966. Our mission is to represent Canadian interests in a variety of fields: political, economic, trade, cooperation, culture and education.

50th Anniversary : 1957 - 2007Canada - Tunisia : 1957-2007, a long lasting partnership

This year, we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Canada and Tunisia. The Canadian Embassy in Tunisia was the first to open in the Maghreb region in 1966. While at the begining founded upon an important development programme, the relations between our two countries are currently based on political dialogue, private sector investment, cultural and academic relations as well as immigration.
