Position #: 747 Location: Ottawa, Canada Salary Range: $59,216 - $71,088 Duration: Indeterminate Closing Date: November 25, 2007 Job Overview The Think Tank Initiative is a new collaborative initiative to support independent policy research organizations in developing regions. Initially focused on selected countries in East Africa, West Africa, South Asia and Latin America, the Initiative intends to strengthen a select group of independent policy research organizations, such that these organizations are providing objective, high-quality research that both informs and influences economic and social policies related to growth, equity and poverty reduction. The Initiative will provide long-term general support funding to qualifying organizations, along with access to funds for training, technical assistance and mentoring to allow them to confront key challenges facing their organizations. Based at the IDRC head office in Ottawa, Canada, under the supervision of the Program Leader, the Research Officer will contribute to the development and operation of the Initiative, produce documentation, and coordinate and disseminate information in support of the Initiative. S/he will have particular responsibility for monitoring and evaluation, for outreach and dissemination of program results and for liaising with key internal and external constituents.
