Atlantic Centre (english)

Based in Halifax, NFB Atlantic Centre works with filmmakers across Canada's Atlantic Provinces to create relevant, committed and innovative cinema and showcase the talents of our region to the rest of the country and the world.

The NFB first opened its Halifax production centre in 1973, under the direction of Atlantic film pioneer Rex Tasker — whose achievements are honoured each year with the Rex Tasker Award for Best Atlantic Documentary at the Atlantic Film Festival.

Today, we're busy working with a new generation of Atlantic filmmakers, ensuring that the rich diversity of Atlantic Canada is fully reflected on the screen.
