Quebec Centre (English)

NFB Quebec Centre produces and co-produces English-language films and videos with directors from its home base of Montreal as well as across the province. We're based in the NFB's historic McLaren Building — named for NFB animation legend Norman McLaren — a place that has been home to a veritable who's who of documentary masters.

We continue to work with many of the country's most renowned directors. But today we're focused on developing a new generation of pioneers, giving emerging filmmakers the opportunity to work at the NFB, to tell their own stories on screen. One way we're doing that is through our Doc Shop project, a Quebec Centre initiative for film, video and communications students.

The Quebec Centre shares facilities with the NFB's Technical Innovation and Resources division, providing our filmmakers with state-of-the-art editing, mixing and screening technology as well as skilled technical and creative staff. We also share our home with the NFB's Montreal animation studios and the documentary studios of French Program, providing unique opportunities for collaborations across film genres and languages.
