A Presentation of NFB's Trailblazing Community-Based Projects
The event happened in Montreal on Tuesday, July 10, from 3 – 5 pm (ET) and was webcast to the NFB offices across the country.
This panel discussion explores trailblazing, community-based projects that are revitalizing the NFB's legendary Challenge For Change commitment to socially relevant media for the digital age. These projects from the NFB and our partners are pushing the boundaries of documentary and animation while giving creative voice to those who even in this age of "anytime, anywhere media" remain excluded.

The projects presented were :
Parole citoyenne/CITIZENShift – the NFB's award-winning Web platforms for community engaged media creation.
Presented by Reisa Levine and Johanne Veilleux.
The Down Project, where artists with Down syndrome produce a range of captivating animation work.
Presented by Michael Fukushima.
Filmmaker-in-Residence, a multi-platform project bringing media making to the front lines of health care, at one of Canada's busiest inner city hospitals.
Presented by Gerry Flahive.
Wapikoni mobile, a mobile film studio training Aboriginal youth and discovering new voices and new talent, conceived by Manon Barbeau/Les productions des beaux jours.

Who We Are – harnessing the potential of multiple platforms to engage Canadians in an exchange on the subject of immigration. Winner of the NFB Cross-Media Challenge.
Presented by Ghassan Fayad (créateur de Qui sommes-nous, fondateur et président de l'entreprise de réalisation Web Kung Fu Numerik inc).
The presentations were a mix of English and French with improvised translations.
