Description: This month we have a presentation from Richard Holt of Environment Canada. Richard will discuss some of the many trade-offs of Clean Air versus Green House Gas Emissions, for example, diesel vehicles give less GHG's but more particulate matter.
Richard Holt's Bio: Richard is a Senior Air Program Engineer with Environment Canada in Vancouver. His work is focused on reducing emissions and impacts from transportation and industrial sources in B.C.

Description:Wheels for Change is a campaign created by a group of British Columbians who want to provide people in this province with an opportunity to gather together and take positive action on climate change.
This campaign involves a 1000 km bike tour from Nelson to Victoria, from June 30th to July 22, 2007, that is open to all people of all ages who are interested in taking part. With your help we hope to collectively cycle 40,000 km - the equivalent to circling the Earth!
We know that many of you can’t make the three week commitment – but, you are welcome to join us for any portion of the tour - whether it is 1 km, 10 km or the full 1000 km, it all contributes to our grand total.
We are a family-friendly event, and children are very welcome to join the rides (check our website’s Bike Tour page for guidelines regarding the participation of children).

Description: Calling all geocachers to participate in a cache-in trash-out event! Our main goal will be to clean-up the Bedford-Sackville Community Trail and to assist the Sackville River Association in cleaning the river itself. Depending on the event turn-out we do have permission for two other community trails as well. The clean-up is to take part between 9:00-11:30am. Following the CITO clean-up is a geocaches BBQ from 11:30-1:00pm. The BBQ will also he held at Fultz House Museum and is going to be a great time. Along with good food and great company there will be prizes, and handouts for participants. We have partnered with the Atlantic Geocaching Association, HRM, the Sackville Kinsmen Club, the Bedford-Sackville Trials Committee, the local Boys & Girls Club, and several volunteer community groups for this event as it is part of larger week-long Community Pride event taking part in Sackville.

Description: The Eco-Efficiency Centre's eighth Annual Environmental Excellence in Business Breakfast is being held during Canadian Environment Week, on June 4th, 2007 at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel from 8 to 10 am. Tickets for the event are $20/person. Our guest speaker for this year?s breakfast is Lynn Johannson, President of E2 Management Corporation. Lynn will be presenting on the topic of Green Productivity and Sustainability. It is going to be an exciting morning as we come together to celebrate Environment Week and recognize and promote good environmental performance in our business community.
