The Commission's dual role is to balance the right of industry to protect trade secrets and the need of workers to have accurate health and safety information about hazardous chemicals used in the workplace.

The Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) is a quasi-judicial body that protects consumers and contributes to health care by ensuring that the manufacturers' prices of patented medicines are not excessive

The Pest Management Regulatory Agency is responsible for protecting human health and the environment by minimizing the risks associated with pest control products.
