Marianna Simeone began her career in international
trade and foreign affairs, heading Canada's
largest bilateral trade association.
For several years she hosted her own current
affairs television show in Italian for CH
Montreal called 7 Giorni before moving
to CBC as a panelist on CBC Newsworld’s
Au Courant.
She was also a guest host on CBC Radio’s
Homerun and CBC News at Six until she began
her present role as City Columnist. |

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Geeta Nadkarni
started her journalism career when she was
12 years old, writing for youth magazines
internationally.
She continued to work in the print media in
Singapore before coming to Montreal in 2003.
Since moving to the city, she has devoted
her time (not necessarily in this order) to
her cats, her dog, her husband, and, as
of October 2nd 2006, her role in telling viewers
all about the Weather on CBC News at Six. |

Anna Asimakopulos, Arts

Raised within a family that strictly forbade
television, Anna Asimakopulos rebelled and
therein sealed her fate.
During a lengthy career with CBC, she has
worked her way up from editorial assistant,
to reporter for the show Busy Bodies,
then a news reporter for Newswatch,
to her present position as Quebec's arts correspondent
for CBC News At Six.. |

Gerri Barrer, Health

Gerri Barrer is a CBC Health Specialist journalist
committed to informing audiences about new
treatments, research results, as well as the
problems and successes in our health care
system. Gerri's aim is to empower the health
care consumer while telling stories in a comprehensible
style.
She's worked for CBC in Montreal as well as
Ottawa and Vancouver. Her work has won Canadian
and international awards and recognition.

Dan Halton, News Reporter

Daniel Halton is a news reporter for Montreal's
CBC News at Six.
He's been working for the network for six
years as a field producer and occasional reporter
for the National and Canada Now,
first in Toronto and later here in Montreal.
During those years he distinguished himself
by producing lead news stories on numerous
days when the eyes of the nation were glued
to CBC TV : the 2003 Quebec provincial election,
the 2004 and the 2005 federal elections, the
2005 London bombings.
Dan graduated from McGill University
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political
Science and a Masters degree in International
Relations. Before joining the CBC he worked
and lived in London, Washington and Ottawa.

Amanda Pfeffer, News

Amanda Pfeffer has worked for CBC across the
country since she graduated with a journalism
degree at Concordia University. She
started as a general news radio reporter in
Vancouver, before becoming the provincial
affairs reporter at the New Brunswick legislature
in Fredericton.
Since then, she's worked on parliament hill
in Ottawa and at the National Assembly in
Quebec City.
In 2002, she came home to work as a television
reporter for CBC in Montreal.
"Since I first worked as an intern for
CBC Radio, I knew I could never get as much
satisfaction working anywhere else; I was
hooked.
Working for the CBC has given me a chance
to see the whole country, meet so many wonderful
people, and tell the stories that are important
to all of us." |
