The focus for World Health Day 2007 is International Health Security. In a globalized world, health issues present new challenges that go beyond national borders and that have an impact on the collective security of all people.

World Health Day 2007 is an occasion for the international community to consider the growing interdependence of health and security, and the need for strong international collaboration and cooperation. Canada's New Government is addressing the health effects of threats such as human and avian pandemic influenza, SARS and HIV/AIDS by working with other governments and international organizations to protect the health and security of Canadians and of all people around the world.
