PIPEDA Awareness Raising Tools (PARTs) Initiative For The Health Sector

On January 1, 2004, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) came into full force and effect, covering all collections, uses and disclosures of personal information in the course of commercial activity. The Government of Canada has developed tools to assist organizations in the healthcare sector understand the scope and requirements of the PIPEDA. These tools were prepared in consultation with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as well as major healthcare associations.
