President's Message

Welcome to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. As Canada's national housing agency for more than 60 years, we contribute to improving the living conditions and the well-being of Canadians.

While our most visible legacy is the housing we see in communities across Canada, it is the difference we have made in the lives of Canadians that remains our most enduring contribution to this country. Together, with our valued partners, we have made a difference in community after community, and family by family, in all regions of Canada.

Our mortgage loan insurance program has assisted one in three Canadians with the purchase of their home. We are the only insurer of rental housing and nursing and retirement homes to support our seniors as they age. We assist Aboriginal Canadians and new Canadians with insurance flexibilities that meet their often unique circumstances. We provide financial assistance to help Canadians most in need to gain access to safe, affordable housing.

Through our research, we encourage innovation in housing design and technology, community planning, housing choice and finance. We offer a wide variety of information products to consumers and the housing industry to help them make informed purchasing and business decisions. We also work with our government partners and industry to promote Canadian products and expertise in foreign markets, thereby creating jobs for Canadians here at home.

We are committed to helping Canadians access a wide choice of quality, affordable homes, while making vibrant, healthy communities and cities a reality across the country.
