Encouraging Creativity

Almost all the trappings of our daily life involve intellectual property. Somewhere someone has taken a great idea and turned it into a new product, brand or creative project. Even the three-dimensional circuitry inside modern information, communications, entertainment, manufacturing, medical and space technologies is considered intellectual property.

On April 26, countries around the world, including Canada, will be celebrating World Intellectual Property Day. This year, CIPO is reminding Canadians of the importance of intellectual property to our everyday lives, and encouraging them to learn more about this burgeoning sector of our society.
