The shortened version is Montréal-Trudeau and its IATA code is YUL. It is important to know that the airport was formerly called Montréal–Dorval International Airport, or Montréal-Dorval, and that the use of this name is still common in everyday language and on road signs.

Some 40 air carriers operate direct flights to and from Montréal-Trudeau to more than 100 regular and seasonal destinations in Canada, the U.S. and internationally.

Most hotels, stores and restaurants will accept U.S. dollars, though sometimes at a lower rate than banks or airports.

Exchanging Currency in Canada

You can change money at any recognized financial institution, bank, trust company or currency exchange in Canada. Many stores, hotels and restaurants will also exchange U.S. currency, but often offer a lower rate than a financial institution.

Taxes

A federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 6% is charged on most goods and services in Canada. A Québec provincial tax (TVQ) of 7.5% is added to all goods and services purchased in the Province of Québec. A non-refundable 3% tax per night is also in effect in Montréal.
