Currently Funded NCEs

The Networks of Centres of Excellence mobilize the best research talents from universities, industries, governments, and non government organizations (NGOs) to produce economic and social benefits for Canadians. Together, with their Canadian and international partners, the NCEs add value to the research and development investments of Canada's granting agencies: the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. The NCEs have a proven track record in moving research results "from the lab to the world" where they can do the most good.

NCE New Initiatives

NCE New Initiatives receive up to four years of funding to foster collaborations of multidisciplinary teams working in partnership with their user sector. This support is incremental to, and builds on, the funding provided to these researchers by the granting agencies - the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. These five new networks are expected to have a major impact in aligning university research with the needs of their user sector, and in producing important knowledge and technology transfer results.
