2005 New Targeted Competition
For a Network of Centres of Excellence (NCE) on BSE/TSE Research
The 2004 federal Budget identified additional funding of $5 million
a year, starting in 2005-2006 to support the creation of a new NCE for
research on bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and other transmissible
spongiform encephalopathies (TSE).
One Letter of Intent was received and reviewed by the NCE BSE/TSE International
Expert Panel.
Based on the recommendations from the Expert Panel, the NCE Steering
Committee invited the group to submit a Full Application by the deadline
of September 6, 2005. The NCE BSE/TSE International Expert Panel met again
to evaluate the Full Application. The new network to be funded is PrioNet
Canada.
