Strategic and Economic Analysis
 The natural resource sectors are a cornerstone of the Canadian economy
and have a major impact on the global economy. Energy and natural resources
are the lifeblood of hundreds of Canadian communities, providing high-paying,
skilled jobs to more than a million Canadians, and issues related to
resource development are important to Canadians in every region of the
country.
Strategic and Economic Analysis carries out analysis and provides policy
advice to senior management on strategic directions for the department
and the natural resource sectors related to economic, regional/intergovernmental,
and Aboriginal and northern issues. It has two units: Intergovernmental
and Aboriginal Affairs; and Economic Analysis and Innovation.
