A three-year-old boy has died after he was severely burned in a house fire in northwestern New Brunswick on the weekend.
His 18-month-old sister died of smoke inhalation the day of the fire, while his father remains in serious condition in Edmundston Regional Hospital.
The 21-year-old man was badly burned trying to rescue the children from the fire, which appears to have started Saturday in the living room of the Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska home, said RCMP Sgt. Derek Strong.
The victims' names have not yet been released.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
